The No Quit Philosophy

The No Quit Philosophy & Promise: If you trust the process, practice noticing and letting go of negative thoughts, give your best, have a great attitude and make right choices, everything will work out better than you could ever imagine.

This has never failed.

By focusing on cultivating a growth mindset, affecting the things you can control and letting go of the results, you will become the best player and human you are capable of being.

We are here to create professionals at life. Becoming collegiate or professional tennis players is one part of that bigger purpose.

The program has spent 20 years studying from the best to create the ultimate environment for a student-athlete to thrive at the highest levels. This includes a team approach that is inspirational and fun. We travel as a team, compete regularly, and emphasize growth mindsets over short-term results. We engineer a positive, kind and supportive environment that fosters lifetime friendships, high expectations, and limitless opportunities for those who earn them.

COACH TIM BLENKIRON

Over two decades ago, Tim Blenkiron started the academy with Ryan Wolfington. Tim serves as the academy’s Owner and Director. A native Australian, Tim has been playing and coaching tennis since he was 2 years old. He played professionally after winning a NCAA title for UNLV. After settling in Las Vegas, Andre Agassi recruited Tim to run the TEAM AGASSI Program, which Tim left to found No Quit.

Tim has helped develop 8 junior players to reach #1 USA rankings. He coaches WTA Pros Asia Muhammad and Genie Bouchard on the tour. Tim is also the head coach for Billie Jean King’s WTT Vegas Rollers pro tennis team with Bob and Mike Bryan. The brothers chose him to run their world-renowned TEAM BRYAN program within the No Quit academy. Tim leads TEAM BRYAN in partnership with the Inspiring Children Foundation, where he is a board member.

Tim has been recognized with the United States Tennis Association‘s most distinguished award for his tremendous impact on the sport. This includes serving as a board member and President of the USTA in Nevada for 10 years, and in the Intermountain section for 10 years. In 2020, Tim was presented with the USTA’s most prestigious honor, the Eve Kraft Community Service Award.

OUR COACHES

Coach Blenkiron has spent over 25 years developing a multi-tiered system that targets every aspect of becoming a professional tennis player. This system is broken down by days, weeks, months and years in a player’s development. Blenkiron trains his coaches and enhances them through his daily training plans and systems. He has handpicked and personally trains a diverse group of coaches who are dedicated to our program’s core values and high performance mindset.

These coaches include former college & professional tennis players, Fitness Trainers, Mental strength Specialists and more. Blenkiron has personally trained them all on his Philosophy and System which includes the following:

1. Spending as much time developing the physical, emotional, social and mental strength of the person as the tennis technique

2. Developing high-performing humans to be professionals at life

3. Emphasis on being one’s individual best in an inspirational team environment

4. Leadership development

5. Excellence in all areas of life

6. Emphasize sportsmanship & the spirit of competition

7. Integrity, honesty, hard work, patience, understanding and a “No Quit” attitude

Thanks to this dynamic program, in partnership with Bob and Mike Bryan, and Grammy nominated artist Jewel, our student athletes are exposed to extraordinary opportunities and leadership speakers.

No Quit players have met the Bryan Brothers, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andre Agassi, Andy Murray, Ana Ivanovic, Martina Navratilova, Donald Young, Billie Jean King, Steffi Graf, John and Pat McEnroe and many more! They’ve even had a chance to collaborate with Jewel, countless CEOs and Senators, Hall of Fame athletes, musicians and even a President of the United States.

What is “The Process”? It is an awareness of the steps necessary to develop and excel at certain disciplines. All practices are designed around this central principle. The Academy uses a progression of technical instruction to develop the players’ games through this step-by-step, process-based learning. Players develop true confidence in their games and a strong technical foundation. Our program also emphasizes emotional and mental strength training in addition to the technical and physical training.

Each coach works with no more than 2-4 students on a court and is given 1-on-1 time with students to ensure that every student understands where they are in their development, and has a clear understanding of the steps they can take to improve.

We believe and have proven that a team-centered approach to training and travel not only inspires a heightened sense of competition, camaraderie, and high-performance expertise, but serves as a positive social interaction that significantly decreases the burnout that is common to elite tennis players.

Developmental Plan: We understand and support parents being a significant force in the tennis development of their children, and we encourage parents to attend and participate as we identify target areas for improvement over the course of the player’s development. Every year, players are given numerous developmental planning and evaluation sessions.

USTA Guidelines/Progressions
Hand Feeding ⮕ Racquet Feeding ⮕ Live Ball
Closed Environment ⮕ Open Dynamic Environment

We follow the USTA’s guidelines for progressions closely. We believe in never skipping steps, and only moving forward with a child’s development when they have mastered the progression and understand the skill.

Every practice session is carefully planned out. Tim is constantly fine-tuning his curriculum and lesson plans in real time to meet the needs of the players. We follow a detailed technical plan designed to both challenge players while giving them a lasting lesson which can be built upon in future practices.

Every practice, students are given:

– 2.5 to 3 hours of training, in line with USTA guidelines
– 30 mins of Leadership/Life Applicators
– 30-1hr of Fitness, Stretching/Yoga, Meditation

Tournament Scheduling/Planning & Leadership: At the No Quit Academy it is our goal to create a culture of kindness, hard work and leadership. It is expected that every student endeavors to be a leader in every sense of the word. Throughout the year students will be given the opportunity to attend Leadership Talks and retreats with top experts,  celebrities, athletes, CEO’s and thought leaders. This is possible thanks to our partnership with the Inspiring Children Foundation.

Our scholar-athletes will be offered unique opportunities to develop themselves as individuals. It is our goal above all else to create successful leaders and professionals at life.

Leadership & Life Skills: All Players are exposed to a collection of principles and values that have been proven over time to be universal truths to creating excellence. Every student that graduates the academy will be given the tools and mindset needed to be successful, fulfilled and the best they can be.

Nutrition: In our program we believe “Eating Right = Feeling Right.” We expose our athletes to the best nutritional plans, foods and supplements. Even our vending machines only hold the healthiest food options - They are both delicious and make players feel good long term.

All players are given a course in proper nutrition for daily life, athletic competition, maximizing energy, minimizing illness and injury.

  • Sleep Patterns: We also inspire athletes to master their sleep cycles, and to plan practice and tournament preparation around this very important science. All players are taught the science and the value of rest and recovery.

Fitness: The Academy is devoted to the highest quality fitness with the least amount of impact on bones, muscles and joints. We have an in-depth fitness program that is practiced every single day, and is incorporated into drills in the training. We also provide the players with a complete strength and conditioning program designed to target areas important to tennis development.

Recovery: Our Academy believes that emotional, social and mental strength training are equally important as any other training. For this reason we spend time focusing on recovery and restorative practices like Yoga and Meditation. As part of their training, twice a week a Yoga instructor will conduct classes designed to release tension and build strength and energy through calming the mind and stretching the body.

Psychological Training: In order to develop oneself as an exceptional tennis player and human being, one must be psychologically, emotionally and mentally strong. For 20 years, the Academy has helped elite athletes to rise above and overcome inclinations to give up by emphasizing emotional & mental strength. We’ve helped countless players who were burnt out to rediscover a passion for the game, which allows them to do extraordinary things. Most of our players continue to play tennis after their professional and collegiate careers because they think of their sport fondly. This is in stark contrast to most academies - where athletes are not given the psychological skills to deal with the adversity & stress of the game.

College Scholarships & Pro Tennis: Every player who has graduated the Academy’s TEAM BRYAN Training & Travel Team has earned a college scholarship. We are proud that 100% of our graduated youth have received scholarships.

We have also had success developing professional tennis players. Most recently Asia Muhammad, Kimberly Yee, and Naomi Cheong have developed under the No Quit Academy’s Guidance.
